Happy Holidays....

Happy Holidays Everyone!
I just wanted to put up a quick post to
show you the beautiful necklace my
Handmad Gift Exchange partner, Becky, made it!

Oops!  I forgot to turn the photo so you could
really get a good look!
It's really pretty and I luv the colors!

And this is what I made for her..

I had seen this idea on HGTV and thought it
was such a cute idea!
I really hope she likes it!
Hopefully she has received it or she should
get it by today!

Well...as I said before this is a really short
post, with so much going on with  projects
and such I seem to never find the time to go online!

Off to work....have a great day everyone!

I'm Still Here....

This is my beautiful, tempermental, opinionated...
oh...did I say beautiful kitty, Jasmine!
I feel so guilty for not posting sooooo long!
I used to sit with my laptop while watching my evening of
television (remember my dedication from a previous post?)
But since starting my CAL...
my fingers ususally have a crochet hook in them instead
of a keyboard!
I have only 5 more blocks to finish to be caught
up but today we got the clue on how to join the squares
so I think the next few weeks will be pretty time consuming!
But I can't wait to see the finished product as the layout
is gorgeous!  I can't wait to see the border they put on it!

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

My new book....
I saw that Aimee had written another book and had to have it!
I haven't made anything from either of them yet
but hopefully that will change soon!

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

A Gardener's Journal...

This is my next big project!
I got everything traced and ready for
when I have time to start it!
I have been following along here watching
the beautiful quilts these ladies are making and have to
have one of my own!

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

I got to see my grandbaby last weekend!
I can't believe  how fast he is growing!
Thought I'd share a few pictures...

Isn't he just the cutest?!
Mr. S isn't bad either!!!

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Well...the tails on my blocks are getting fixed
as long as I'm online so better sign off and get to work!

Bernat CAL...

Here it is!  The last of the blocks!
I got all 8 done but have to tuck in my tails!
I went online last night because I could not wait to see
the next clue!!!
I wasn't disappointed!!
I luv the layout of the blocks!  I think it's going to be beautiful!
From this point on tho I may be behind until the end
as I still have 5 blocks of the mitered square left to finish
along with joining my squares!

Till next week......

Bernat CAL...

Clue # 6...

I really like this block, the lacynesss of the pattern is really pretty.
It didn't take too long to turn out the 4 required for the week.
That gave me a little time to actually crank out a couple more
blocks for Clue #5!

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Clue # 7...

What a BIG granny square!
This is undoubtedly the biggest granny square I have
ever crocheted!
I'm curious to see how this will play into the final product...
My bet is it will be the centerpiece???
Well, we have a few more weeks before we will find out!

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Today is Clue #8...
I haven't taken a look yet to see what it entails!
Hopefully it will be pretty simple and will
allow time to finish up the Clue #5 blocks.
I think I have six more to do!

Have a great day!

Hi...My name is Becky

Yes...I am a TVholic!
I need help...what can I say?!
That's why I go so long between posts.
I don't know what I did before the invention of the DVR.
Sometimes I really want to cancel my cable and turn off the tv
and spend my time doing the many things I luv...
crochet, scrapbook, read, embroidery...
Think of the projects that could get completed,
the books that could be read...

But I chicken out...
and can't wait to watch the next reality show!

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

It's finally turning cool around here!
It's crazy that two days ago you could lay out and tan
and today I'm wearing sweats and freezing!

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Well... apparently I'm getting no where fast
posting this blog so I will not make you suffer any longer!
Till next time which I hope won't be
too far away as I have so many things to share!

My New Pretty....

Okay...before we get to my good news,
I wanted to share with you a recent sunset!
I truly luv sunrises & sunsets in Arizona!
Now...my new pretty!

We traded my Chevy Avalance in for a Subaru Legacy Sport Wagon.
My Avalanch was way up there in miles and was going
to start to need a lot of $ for things that need to be serviced,
it takes a lot of $ to fill up the gas tank,
my tags were due (more $),
my payments were really high...
So...
we decided to trade her in on a younger model with
many more years under the hood!

It was owned by only one previous owner and in fabulous condition.
Even the 16yr old teenage didn't mind the change!
It passed his approval!

Bernat CAL

Okay... beginning this week, I will never be caught up again!
I can't belive I am supposed to crank out 16, did I say...16 blocks this week!
I have to admit, I am doing stitches I have never done before
and may have never done if I were not doing the CAL.
I am so curious as to what the final product will look like.
So.... here 4 of the blocks for this week.
4 down....12 to go!!!!

Cute huh?!!!

I can't wait to see what's in store for this week!

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Between these blocks and my books...
I will never get to start that embroidery/quilt project i wanted to start.
I may go ahead and trace the embroidery patterns and
purchase the floss to have on hand for when I
might squeeeze a little stitching in!

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Well...guess I'd better sign off so I can maybe get a little
crocheting done tonight!

Yikes!!!!!

Oh My Gosh!!!
For my fellow CAL friends...did you see how many blocks for this week?!
I guess I will no longer have my  blocks done before the next clue arrives!
I can't even fathom that I can have that many blocks finished
before next Wednesday!
Wait...what am I doing blogging?
I should be crocheting!!!

Happy Sunday!!!

Happy Fall from Arizona!
Unfortunately in AZ we really don't have much
of a "fall" season.
But we will embrace what little we have!
Today me & Mr. S. went to the mountains, Medera Canyon,
and went for a hike.
I was so looking forward to this hike because the last
time I did it, I had to take soooo many breaks and I
could hardly make it to the end.
Since then, I have been working out and doing a lot of walking.
I have also been trying to start running with the C25K
program to get me up to be able to run a 5K
eventually!
So...today I did the hike in record time for me and...
I even ran almost half of it!  I was so excited!

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

I also bought another book!!
(I know, like I need another book! Especially a quilting book!)

It looked like a great book for using
jelly rolls, cinnamon rolls, charms and precut fabric pieces!
There is  a pattern that caught my eye that maybeeeee
one day I may attempt!
That is... when I can turn my attention to quilting!

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Bernat CAL

I really luv this block!
(I didn't like all the tails tho!)
To me it gives you insight at the bigger picture of your afghan!
You see how the colors work together!
So far I have actually kept up with the blocks and had the
number needed completed before the new clues were given.
Hopefully I can stay on top of it!

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

So.... till next time ladies!

It's Been Awhile....

I have to start my blog today to say just how excited
I am to say I got Wicked tickets!
I saw it in Chicago a couple of years ago just
have to see it again!  It was fabulous!
The tickets went on sale early Friday @ 7:00am
at the Univ of AZ campus prior to
the regular 10:00am sales time.
They predicted that it would sell out prior to the later time
so...I was standing in line @ 5:45am to make sure
I got mine!  Plus the first 100 people in line got a gift!

This was my free hat!

And my tickets!

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

I think I mentioned last visit my SIL, Sandy, and I were going
the the Craft & Sewing Festival...
I was really disappointed as it was very small and most
everything was geared toward quilters and sewers, nothing much
in the way of different crafts.  I used to frequent the one in
Phoenix every year and it was much bigger and a lot of  variety.
I did manage to pick up a few fat quarters...

We will see what the future holds for these!

I bought a package of scrap fabric for like $4 and some
clothesline cord...

and made this bowl....

While making the bowl I thought of making a pen holder
for my desk at work.  Same idea but I used a can of
veggies as a template for my pattern... I thought it came
out pretty good!

Not too shabby!

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

My crochet-a-long is coming along!
Here are last weeks blocks...

This week we have to make 8 squares of the following...

One down, seven to go!

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

I made a couple more pillows from placemats!  My SIL, Sandy,
gave me these cute placemats and voila....

before...

after!

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Last night we went to see Matt Costa sing downtown.
The venue was fabulous!  It was at Hotel Congress which is a
small, quaint place that is the perfect setting for someone
like Matt.

This is the opening band, just wanted to show you the decorative
framing of the stage...

This is Matt Costa and his band, he is the one in the black
shirt..

On the 2nd Sat of the month, downtown Tucson has lots of activites
going on such as vendors, entertainment and a few oddities!
There were a couple of vehicles that were covered
in things...this one was a van covered in old cameras...

this is a close up of a design on the passenger door.

This bug was covered in musical items..

This is one of the historical theaters downtown...
I have yet to go but hopefully soon!

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Wow....that's a lot to take in!  I will try not to wait soooo long
in between posts but I so dread the downloading of pics
I don't bother!  It seems to take soooooo darn
long and it's irritating!

Now that it's take f-o-r-e-v-e-r to do this post...
maybe I can read some of yours!
Till next time...
